Manuel Antonio park was temorarily closed due to environmental issues recently. The local economy suffered from the parks closure and the community fought and negociated to re-open the park. The environmental issues have been taken care of, the park has re-opened and the tourism to the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area has picked up.

Surfing Costa Rica

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

With so much fun size swell here in San Diego, I wonder how the waves are in Costa Rica?? I wish I could leave tonight and be there in the morining, in time for an afternoon session at Playa Hermosa or at Quepos Marina. The perfect place to stay around Manuel Antonio/Quepos is at V.T. or Costa Rica Exodus. Check out the Costa Rican Vacation Rentals at www.costaricaexodus.com.

Costa Rica

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Man, I’ve been back home in SoCal for only a few months and I am soooo ready to get back to Costa Rica. The rentals at V.T.-Costa Rica Exodus are awesome and when timed with the right south swell you will score the harbor, which is just minutes from the villas’s location. Check out the website at www.costaricaexodus.com and contact them with any questions.

Manuel Antonio

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Manuel Antonio State Park is absolutely beautiful. We spent a lot of time on the beach when we were not relaxing by the pools at the villas. The main beach in Manuel Antonio offers chairs and umbrellas, for a small fee, and you can even have a professional massage done right on the beach. There is a small amount of stores and a small amount of street vendors. There is a place to get cold drinks, food, and even a spot to rent surfboards, kayaks, jet ski’s and paragliding. Our rental villas are less than 10 minutes from this extremely active spot, it was nice to be at the happening spot in town, but it was especially nice to be able to come back to a comfortable, relaxing and cozy villa. There is minimal noise here at our villas  compared to staying at a hotel or place in town that is right in the hub bub of things. We enjoyed the sounds of the jungle and the light conversations with other guests. The location was great and close to everything, we were happy to be staying at our Costa Rica Exodus.

Surfing Near Quepos Rental Villas

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

We were pleasantly surprised with the location of the villas, it was centrally located to a numerous amount of know surf spots. The villas are located about 45 minutes to an hour from Playa Hermosa and Playa Dominical.

Going north from our secluded rental paradise, you will find surf breaks like Punta Quepos, Bocas Damas, Playa Bejuco, Playa Esterillos Este, Playa Esterillos Oeste and Playa Hermosa. Jaco is just a few more minutes up the road from Hermosa where the rivermouth is normally a good spot for some surf.

To the South you will find many breaks in Manuel Antonio and Playa El Rey is about twenty minutes from villas. Playa El Rey is a long stretch of beach offering up peaks with nobody on them. You go south from the villas to Roncador, about 20-25 minutes, and pass through the town. After you go over two drainage ditches, puentes, look for a telephone pole that has “Rey” painted on it. The telephone pole is hard to spot so keep your eyes peeled about 100 yards or so after the second puente. Follow this road all the way to the beach. It takes about 10 minutes from the main road until you see the beach but once you get there you won’t regret it. Keep an eye out for crocodiles in the canal running parallel to the road, they are hard to spot but they are there. Playa Dominical and Punta Dominical is just another half hour or so from the El Rey turnoff.

Every time I have gone to Costa Rica I have always had a car to take day trips to find surf with no one out. As for the villas, it is a prime spot to go on an adventure with your friends and surf your own peak.

Vacation Rentals

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Staying at the villas in Costa Rica, near Manuel Antonio State Park, is a wonderful experience. The rental villas are close to Quepos, which is a world renown fishing destination, and the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio. It is a beautiful drive into Manuel Antonio from the villas. The villas are close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and the night life.  Best of all, the rental prices for a week at the villas is competetive and the amenities are top notch. I would recommend staying at our vacation rentals to anyone. I had a great time and I can’t wait to go back.

Exodus Villa Rental

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

The closest surf spot is Punta Quepos, or Quepos Harbor. It is about 5 minutes from the villas and on the right swell direction it is like a mini Pavones, a long reeling left with a few barrel sections. It breaks best on the south swells and on low tide. It is located right in the heart of Quepos, find the jetty and paddle out, you won’t regret it.

Playitas and Manuel Antonio are located 10-15 minutes from our beautiful Costa Rican vacation rentals. Playitas breaks on the high tide, when the tide swing occurs make sure to watch out for the rocks. Down at the culdesac where the vendors, massage tables, sun chairs and sun shades are there is a fun beach break that gets peaky and fun on the right swell.

Bocas Damas is about a twenty minute boat ride from the Quepos Marina. Freddy, from Tropical Surf School, arranges the boat. David, or Chino, the boat driver is friendly and a ripping surfer. Bocas Damas can get pretty hectic, it normally only breaks on the BIG swells. The inside is called scary house because the rips take you back into the pit every time and it is pretty common for surfers to make the walk back to Quepos, which takes about an hour or more. Bocas Damas is only accessible by boat from Quepos or further north from Playa Bejuco. You can walk but it is black sand, sunny and hot so the boat ride is the best option for $20 per person. Bring your mini gun and watch out for the crocodiles!!

If you are interested in visiting our villas please feel free to contact us regarding your rental.

Costa Rica Vacation

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

We landed in Costa Rica on Wednesday morning and began the drive to our Vacation Rentals near Manuel Antonio National Park. It was a beautiful drive to the villas. It took 3 and a half hours to arrive at our Costa Rica Exodus. We drove through the mountains to Jaco, then down the coast to Playa Hermosa to check the surf. Playa Hermosa was about head high and fun. Our vacation rentals are an hour south of Playa Hermosa. Once you drive into the Quepos area you continue to head south toward the airport and the hospital on the Pan American Highway, we are only a Kilometer from the highway. I can’t wait to get back to our Quepos Villas and spend another few weeks there. Kathy and Roberto are great, they were always there for us and I can’t wait to see them again.Visit Costa Rica Exodus to book your vacation at our gorgeous villas, we can’t wait to here from you.
